    The East Dubuque Lions Club will provide FREE screening to anyone who has diabetes, a family history of diabetes, or is 55 or older and would like to have a picture taken of their eyes to check for this problem.     Celebration Iowa Singers and Jazz Band, an elite ensemble of Iowa high school musicians, will perform at the Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens Sunday, July 27th at 6:30pm. It's the final concert in the Dubuque Arts Council "Sunday at 6:30" season - sponsored by Fuerste Eye Clinic and The Dubuque Racing Association.

    Were you in the production crew or an extra on the set of Sylvester Stallone's movie F.I.S.T.? Have you always heard about F.I.S.T., the major motion picture made in Dubuque in 1977, but never had the opportunity to see it on the big screen? 30 years after its original release, Carnegie-Stout Public Library in Dubuque will show F.I.S.T. on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 6 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Auditorium. Admission and snacks are free, and open discussion will be encouraged after the show.

    Starring Sylvester Stallone and directed by Norman Jewison, F.I.S.T. is a drama based loosely on the life of Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa.

Hall 781 Locust St. Cost is only $12.00 with proceeds used to refurbish the Nativity Scene in Washington Park. Cocktails at 5:30 with dinner at 6:30 pm.
