Champps Americana, sponsor of
the Classic Rock Cafe brought lunch down on Wednesday. Yes, those are
ribs. Yes, they were good. No, I'm not sharing!
Boston in Concert!
Finally, here's a little
review of the Boston concert at the Great Jones County Fair, Friday night, July
18. First, change the name to the Great "wet and muddy" Jones County
Fair. The showers that delayed the Thursday night shows stayed away, but
the mud puddles stuck around. Walking around was borderline
dangerous! You would sink 4 to 5 inches before you knew it. I'm sure
the grounds claimed a flip-flop or 2.
To the tunes. I'll try
to just list them, all right? From album one, and on; More than a Feeling,
Peace of Mind, Rock and Roll Band, Smokin', Hitch a Ride, Foreplay Long Time,
Something about You, Don't Look Back, Feelin' Satisfied, Don't Be Afraid of
Love, Amanda, The Launch, Cool the Engines, To Be a Man, Walk On, I Had a Really
Good Time.
I'm sure I'm missing one or two, but there you have
it!
New Pictures to share:
Me, Carrie, and
my Mom (Dee) at Eagle Point Park.
The family! Johnny, Carrie, Gavin
& Max
At the Quad City Airshow. The smoke
is all from Shockwave, the Jet Engine Semi!
Gavin celebrates a great finish in a
summer ball tournament. How many did you guys have this
year?
FLASHBACK! Here is a
picture page from
the Pie Auction we held to raise money for the Red Cross. Makes me
hungry.
This is the
funniest thing I've seen on the net in weeks! It's Kid Rock, and I think
he's telling you, in his own way, to stop stealing music on-line. Careful,
he swears. I know, big surprise. Click
here for Kid Rock's PSA.
June 18. Max caught his
first fish!
I want you guys to go and have breakfast, lunch, or a tasty
coffee at a new place in downtown Dubuque. It's the Naughty Dog, it's on
West Locust, right across from the Library. Amazing food, and a beautiful
little cafe restaurant. Try the iced mocha!
As promised, I dug up a
picture of myself and Carrie hanging with James Young (JY) of Styx! Cool
guy.
A friend of mine named Darryl Keck has written a book about
his experiences as a 'zine writer in the great years of heavy metal. The book is called Metal Generation. Click
here and check it out!
